Rare opportunity to own
the "1989 Tour", a 1989 Bluebird Wanderlodge Wide Body. Built by the
Bluebird bus company but always a (certified) RV, the Wanderlodge is an
all-steel body, vintage luxury motorhome with tons of character. The engine and
exterior are in excellent condition, and the interior has numerous updates.
These rare birds are built to last and have a cult-like following that rivals
Airstream. Built in 1989, this model sold for almost 500,000 dollars to its
Mechanical: She runs great! It has an

It has had new tires, hydraulic lines, fuel
filter housing, air-ride bags, and tires within the past three years. An
airplane mechanic owned this Coach before we purchased it, and they kept it in
meticulous mechanical shape.
Everything is mechanical, making it easy to work
on. Parts can typically be found from diesel truck centers and CAT dealers.
The previous owner purchased many spare parts
and manuals that can be provided to the buyer if desired.
Needs: The speedometer doesn't work, and we used
a GPS to monitor speed, odometer quit working at 100,000 Miles, but it has been
driven less than 15,000 miles since it broke. It has a leveling system that
needs servicing but is comfortable to use without; some miscellaneous areas
have minor issues, such as latches on the interior storage that don't always
Interior: Recently replaced the interior
with life-proof flooring in front and rear of the coach. New paint and
aesthetic improvements as well. There is a very comfortable couch that converts
into a twin bed and also has seat belts as needed. Both the driver's and
passenger's seats are comfortable "captain's chairs" with normal wear
and tear. Both chairs swivel to allow more seating options for when the coach
is parked. The dinette sits four and also contains seat belts for when the
vehicle is in motion. The kitchen includes a two-burner-cook top, a
microwave/convection oven combo, a double sink, generous storage, and
countertops made of Corian. The refrigerator and freezer both run great and
operate on propane but should be easy to convert to 120 volts as needed. Three
overhead AC units keep the place nice and chilled. Two of them were replaced
within the past four years. Heat can be run out of the overhead units as well.
Other Features: Full Bath with a Shower Tub
Combo, electric hot water heater works great, massive holding tanks and
slide-out storage underneath, outside freezer/cooler, new outside grill that
needs to be installed, camera installed that allows you to watch your tow
vehicle at all times, airplane style-overhead storage in the main coach.
Driveability: This coach is a pleasure to drive.
You don't get "beat up" from driving it. This was the first Class A
Motorhome I have ever driven, and it handles far better than any Class C.
Despite it's size, it turns in tight areas very well. You don't get the
"sway" from trucks passing, and it feels very comfortable and is very
safe to drive. And when pulling a tow vehicle you won't even realize it.
There are other features that I am forgetting
because these coaches were built fully loaded. This coach will continue to hold
its value, and its value may even increase since it is a vintage coach. My
family and I traveled in this a lot this year while working from home was still
an option, but with that season coming to a close, we have decided to sell.
With only 105,000 original miles on her, she
still has tons of life in her! Detroit Diesel engines will last a million
miles, and the Bus-body is more durable than any brand new motorhome. Located
in Milner, GA. Clear title in hand!
